$4.8 Million Dollar Confidential Settlement
for Personal Injury And Wrongful Death
in Tennessee Motor Vehicle Collision
Due to the confidentiality of the settlement, the clients names cannot be released. Plaintiff, a resident of Tennessee, was awarded $4,800,000.00 in a settlement conference for injuries he and his wife incurred while travelling in Tennessee when their motorcyle was hit head-on by a commercial van.
In 2009, Plaintiff, age 67, was travelling with his wife, age 57, on their motorcycle to visit her sister. While enroute, a commercial van crossed the double yellow line into Plaintiff’s lane, causing a collision.
As a result of the collision, the plaintiff and his wife were thrown from the motorcycle. He suffered hip and multiple leg fractures which required several surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. She sustained multiple blunt force injuries to her body. She died shortly after the collision while in flight to the hospital. She is survived by her husband and a son.
At the time of the accident, both plaintiffs were retired from their jobs as an engineer and a full-time school teacher. They had been married since 1979.
